When viewing a file with QuickLook it will appear in the foreground of the screen. When you select a different window, QuickLook will go to the background. It’s possible to keep the QuickLook windows in front.

Mac OS X: Disable Mission Control and Spaces
If you never use Mission Control than it is possible to disable the feature entirely and save resources. If you disable Mission Control you also disable the Spaces feature, before disabling Mission Control, close all of your spaces.
Place the OS X Dock in the right or left side corner
It’s possible to place OS X Dock in the left or right side corner of the screen with this hidden defaults write command. After applying the command you should restart the Dock. Use one of the following commands:
Disable the send-mail tone in OS X Mail application
When sending an e-mail in the standard OS X Mail application a swoosh tone will be played. This tone cannot be disabled through the standard mail settings. With the following defaults write command you can disable the sound.
Launchpad: Change the level of background blur
Launchpad uses a blurred version of your Desktop image as its background. Using cmd + option + ctrl + B while in Launchpad cycles through the original image, the blurred one, a black and white version and a blurred black and white version.
